In addition to producing videos
for the Counterdrug Program and the State Headquarters, I was involved in
writing, photography and editing of the Counterdrug Program internal newsletter, "The D.R.I.L.",
which was distributed to Federal and State policy-makers and elected
representatives, as well as to all members of the Counterdrug Program.
In order to use the
headquarters' printing facilities, The Counterdrug program had to
supply manpower (ME) to the printshop to help with the actual
printing and production of the newsletter
I received hands-on training in
offset print 'the finished
layouts to the pressroom proofing printer via LAN. I produced the camera
negatives and exposed and developed the offset plates. I managed the
presses, operated the collating/folding/stapling 'finisher' machine, and
packed the finished newsletters for distribution. I
also produced "proof" prints of specialty items, such as the
Conference Book Cover or the
design for the portfolios.

Team Engineer Environmental
Concerns
Team Engineer had to work closely with Federal, State
and Local Environmental agencies and watchdog groups while installing
brand-new fence and access roads along California's 200-mile border with
Mexico. This article was written to tell of the environmental
successes Team Engineer had while performing this mammoth construction
project.

Military Housing for Counterdrug
personnel
Counterdrug personnel are Reservists who are placed on
Active Duty for the duration of their employment by the Counterdrug Program.
As such, they may be entitled to military housing -- IF a number of
conditions are met, and depending on the policy of the post or base they
were nearest to.
I researched the options available to Counterdrug
personnel in various duty locations within the State of California, and and
wrote this article.
