Beale Airshow Commercial (5MB)
In broadcast resolution
640x480. Beale AFB was donated 200 airplays of a Public Service
Announcement over two weeks on 37 Comcast cable channels in the Northern
California area. That's less than 3 plays per day per channel.
So I made the piece as loud and attention-grabbing
as possible while still saying all the things that needed to be said.
Global Hawk Divert Training (35MB)
The Global Hawk is a
remotely-piloted, unmanned reconnaissance aircraft. What would happen
if they had to divert one to an airport where they'd never seen one
before? How do you turn it off and tow it off the runway? How
do you train a recovery crew that just found out a Global Hawk is an hour
away from landing at their airfield?
This video was written, shot and edited in less than 10 days
to meet a short-fuse mission requirement, and is distributed on DVD, CD-ROM
and via the internet.
Pharmacy (23MB)
This video answers the question
"What's taking so long to fill my prescription?"
Beale AFB Adventure Race (37 MB)
Services Squadron plans
and runs events such as this
to support and promote physical fitness among Beale AFB airmen. The
Marketing section needed a video to both encourage Beale personnel
participation in future events, and to encourage local businesses to
sponsor part of the events..
Two more, hosted on a different server:
Recce
Challenge 10K race
Recce
Challenge Triathlon
MARE Exercise (18MB)
Major Accident Response
Exercises are staged once a quarter. This video was created for
showing at the After Action ("hot-wash") Briefing, to set the
tone for the review of the exercise. The exercise was a simulated
crash of a refueling aircraft with passengers, and involved participation
by and coordination with local civil police and fire departments.
Battlefield Airman Training (19MB)
Beale AFB has developed this program
to give Airmen who are to deploy in support of the war on terror the combat
skills they need for the deployment. This video has been used as the
template for other bases to establish their own airman combat training
programs.
"Joyful, Joyful" 4-camera live
event production.
(6.5MB)
Joyful Large (16MB)
Excerpts from a finished
two-hour program. As a producer with a limited budget of $700, I
assembled the crew, rented the production truck, designed and installed the
audio interface to the shows' production sound system, and directed the
cameras and switched the show from inside the production truck.
Team Engineer Marketing Video (15 minutes)
(37MB)
Team Engineer Large (60MB)
This video was designed
to encourage Army Reserve and National Guard Engineer units to spend their
Annual Training on California's border with Mexico to help construct the
Border Fence and Roads system.
The client (Chief, California National Guard Counterdrug
Program,) wanted the main part of the program to be patterned after an Army
Five Paragraph Operations Order (OPORD), and to sound like an OPORD
briefing, in order to assist deploying units with writing their own
deployment OPORDs.
Thomas Lapenter in Bosnia news package
(5MB)
Lapenter Large (10MB)
Mr. Lapenter
volunteered to instruct police officers in this formerly Communist country
on how to uphold principles of Democracy in a newly-emerging Democratic
nation.
This package was shot, written and edited at the
request of a local television station in Mr. Lapenter's
home town of Ft Pierce, Florida. The package
was cut so that the receiving station would have maximum flexibility with
it, and all raw shots from this story were sent along with the finished
report and script.
ROTC Marketing video (18MB)
ROTC Marketing Large (25MB)
The task -- convince ROTC
candidates that they should use their ROTC scholarship to help them attend
an expensive but very prestigious private university, rather than get a
'free ride' at an inexpensive state university. The name "LT
Robert Jones" was made-up to alert the USC-ROTC staff that the caller
had just watched the video.
The underscore music was edited together from
different parts of three different music pieces.
